The Civic Drone Centre’s new Flying High Challenge project is starting to generate interest across the region.
Supported by Nesta’s Challenge Prize Fund, and with Preston City Council as a partner, the five-month project will explore Preston-specific use cases for drone technology. Engaging with local services, communities and industry, the project will create a range of recommendations that could be taken forward on both a local and national level.
Yesterday, the project was covered by BBC North West Tonight. Project lead and head of aerospace at UCLan, Darren Ansell – who was also co-founder of the Civic Drone Centre – spoke about the project and its aspirations.
The next stages of the process is to consult with a range of groups and organisations across Preston to come up with creative and relevant ideas.
