The Media Innovation Studio was invited to UCLan’s annual University Court event this week to present the Interactive Newsprint project.
Taking place on March 25th, the event sees politicians, businesspeople and community representatives from across the north-west come together to visit the university. This year’s theme was ‘break-through research’, and the session saw a range of UCLan’s world-leading research projects showcased.
Introduced by UCLan Vice Chancellor Professor Malcolm McVicar and Director of Research Dr Robert Walsh, the event sought to highlight the breadth and depth of the university’s research agenda.
Among the speakers were Professor Soo Downe (Midwifery), Professor Richard Sharpley (Dark Tourism) and Professor Ulrike Zeshan (Sign Language and Linguistics).
Paul Egglestone presented the Interactive Newsprint project, which is currently examining a new platform for community news using printed electronics technology.
